Canon Pixma MP470 Software
Canon Pixma MP470 is a multifunction printer that has a pretty good design. This printer is quite tall and wide, at 17.7 inches wide, 13.9 inches deep, and 6.7 inches high. At the top front of the printer, a silver scanner cover hides the A4-size flatbed scanner. Since the Canon Pixma MP470 does not have an automatic document feeder, Canon Pixma MP470 printer users cannot scan legal-size documents. This printer uses a very simple paper handling system. The paper feed support opens at the rear and the front panel of the printer opens to act as an output tray. Next to the output tray is a small door that hides two memory card slots. These slots accept the most common types of memory cards, although some slots require an adapter (which is not included). Hidden under the memory card is a PictBridge-compliant USB port (so hidden that we lost it in the first review). You can use it to connect a PictBridge camera for direct printing or to connect an optional Bluetooth adapter (sold separately) for wireless printing. The Canon Pixma MP470 printer’s control panel is hidden under the hinged panel at the top of the printer. At the bottom of the panel is an integrated 1.8-inch graphic LCD screen. The control panel is simple, although well organized. The buttons include a job button for copy, scan, and memory card modes, a menu navigation button, and two home buttons, one for black only and one for color. With a dual-tank ink system, the Canon Pixma MP470 printer delivers neat and excellent print quality. This printer also has several functions, one of which is copying, scanning, and photo printing. With this printer, you can copy up to 99 pages and reduce or enlarge from 25 to 400 percent. Special copy features include borderless copy, sticky copy, draft copy, and image repeat. The Canon Pixma MP470 printer’s built-in scan menu lets you choose between scanning files to a PC, attaching scans to email, scanning to PDF, or scanning to a program. With Canon Pixma MP470, the scan appears in Canon MP Navigator EX utility; You cannot ask the scanner to scan into a program like Word or Photoshop. The MP Navigator EX utility allows you to edit photos (for photo scans), convert scans to PDF, attach them to emails, or convert scans to editable text using OCR software.
